Custom Trip 1/2
I've had this idea for a while. Longboarding with friends somewhere further than just through the city. I admit I got inspired by Adam Colton and his friends, boarding through the continents (their last trip was through South America). My intentions weren't this ambitious, just wanted to try how much I can handle and how far I can make it.
After not that succesfull try no.1 last fall when we picked way too difficult trail according to the weather and season conditions, we decided to continue in spring where we just left off. It was a time to set a date when the weather started getting warmer. Eventually, the end March was the time for the Custom trip, although it turned out to be way too difficult to convince more people to join us, so eventually, it ended up going just me and Kůža, rider and a documentarist in once. On March 23, we went next to a border crossing Bumbálka in Beskydy Mountains. We started up at the begining of a Bečvařská Stezka and took a nice downhill. Going through Karolínka and Vsetín to Valašské Meziříčí was a first part of the trip. 50km distance.
The pics tell more than words, but I have to say that the first part of the trip was like 'wow'. The sun showed up, denying the morning forecast and the roads dried up. People we passed were either frowning or smiling, the second ones prevailed.
The road was okay untill we left Vsetín and had to walk for a while because the road just ended up. Luckily, it wasn't that long and it was a nice relax, taking a little break after couple hours of boarding. Unfortunately, it started to rain soon after, and before we reached Valašské Meziříčí, we gave up the plan of making it to Přerov, where we initially planned to end up. We called Pták from the band Punkhart and his girlfriend to ask if we could crash at their place. They agreed and even cooked a traditional local soup for us - kyselica. What a land of hospitality! We also took several beers and went to sleep all tired after the trip.
