Journey: Brno - Pasohlávky - Hevlín - Mistelbach - Wien

Journey length: 170km

Right after returning from our very first Custom trip, we already started thinking about crossing the boarder and going more South. Full of energy and with a good feeling after trip no.2 to Brno, we planned to continue in the middle of August. Wasn´t difficult to get ready and this time there was even 6 of us, compared to the previous trips.

I was nice that one of the new-joined people was basically our first designer (and of course a good friend too) Yvans. He took his friend Robin with him, and the others belonging to our group were snowboarder Ondra  and David from Přerov.

First several metres and pushes from Brno were perfect. Happiness from not being alone in this and going further and further was only disturbed by car klaxons, but we didn´t get bothered and headed to  Nové Mlýny, where we took a (very cold) swim in the lake. From this place we continued in 4 people only. Went to South Moravi and enjoyed its local traditions, which was pretty cool!

Almost Friday evening, but filled with energy, we remained to continue until it got dark.  Reached a family ranch in Nový Přerov where we enjoyed local people´s hospitality – we got delicious goat cheese and apple drink. Isn´t it a great way to end the day? The next day was almost never-ending since we couldn´t find an accommodation and went another 10km extra than expected. We made 70km that day!!

Took a morning shower in a local pond, they made us a warm water in a local store, so we could make some tea and we soon got on the way, heading to Hevlín, last city before the boarder. Seeing the sign Republik Österreich got us a whole new spirit: “Wow, we really reached the boarder?” first pushes in Austria went on smooth, as well as in CzechJ

We were going in direction of Mistelbach, one of the biggest cities in Austria and the weather was just perfect – sunny, but not too hot. Even several downhills on the way, but also one major enlightenment  -  although nothing really bad happened to us this time, I make you sure you should walk an unknown downhill first, don´t go with a filled up backpack, make sure you tightened the trucks properly and always have your helmet on!

After the entire day on the way through Austria, we finally reached the windpowers, where we took a nap in a haystack, watching the sky with sunset. We were nicely tired, drinking wine and 30km before Vienna.

On Sunday morning we woke up to a bright sky shiny day, which we unfortunately didn´t find that great since we assumed it´s gonna get too hot…well, we got really nice tan that day, with ´sexy´ bag stripes on the bag. At least a thing to make our friends laugh.

Wienna was closer and closer and soon we noticed its tall buildings. Endless flat roads between the fields went on much faster seeing that view and knowing how soon we shall be there. Final downhill as a cherry on top and Ondra´s words “I don´t understand I really made it!” made me smile. Let´s go to have a lunch!

What else to say in the end? Maybe the fact that no one suffered from a leg pain after the trip and the next journey will lead to a Hungarian capital, so hopefully we shall continue yet this year. Howgh!
